It also provides an overall sleep quality score, which handily sums things up. The Misfit app, however, is not quite as comprehensive as the RestOn's, which tracks everything that Misfit tracks, as well as pulse, the number of times you move during the night, instances of apnea, and the number of times your heart stops. It also tracks heart rate and ambient sounds like snoring. The Beddit tracks total sleep time, and sleep cycles are broken up into deep sleep, light sleep, or awake state. You can see how long you slept per night, week, or month. All of the information is laid out in a simple, easy-to-read fashion. You'll see the familiar purple hue and the exact same charts and layouts you'd see while tracking fitness stats, except here they're used for sleep. As with the RestOn, I tested the Beddit on a spring mattress.Īs mentioned above, the Beddit uses the same app as other Misfit products, like the Shine and the Flash ($81.00 at Amazon) (Opens in a new window). The Beddit is compatible with the iPhone 4S or newer, and the 5th-generation iPod touch ($299.95 at Amazon) (Opens in a new window), as long as they are running iOS 7.0 or later. I was able to pair the Beddit with an Apple iPhone 6 without much trouble. The two will pair through Bluetooth 4.0 automatically. Back to the Beddit: In order to pair it, you go to the Device tab on the bottom portion of the screen and tap the Plus sign, then select Beddit. If you're an Android user and want to track sleep with the Misfit app you can use the Misfit Shine ($89.99 at Amazon) (Opens in a new window) or the Misfit Flash Link ($49.99 at Amazon) (Opens in a new window), two inexpensive wearables you can slap around your wrist. However, Android users are out of luck, as the Android app currently lacks Beddit support, which is disappointing. ![]() You then pair the Beddit with the Misfit app, which you can download for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play. To complete the setup prcoess, you drape the power brick over the side of the mattress and plug it in. I'm not a fan of this design choice for a few reasons: the sticky side gets dirty, it will inevitably lose its adhesive properties over time, and it's difficult to take off the mattress and store. Underneath you'll find an adhesive, sticky side similar to Scotch tape-this is the side that you lay flat on the mattress, beneath your fitted sheet. To set it up, you must pull off a protective covering attached to the strip. There can be a few wrinkles as you first lay it down, but nothing some smoothing out won't fix. It's about as thin as paper, so you barely feel it on your mattress as you sleep on top of it. The main strip measures 26 inches long and 1.2 inches wide. Since 1982, PCMag has tested and rated thousands of products to help you make better buying decisions. You wouldn't want to wake up in the middle of the night to reach for a glass of water, only to fumble and spill it on the wiring. This is unfortunate, because the idea of sleeping on top of something that needs to be plugged into an electrical outlet at all times is, frankly, not a great one. On the slim power adapter you'll find an orange felt tag with the Beddit logo and a USB cable that needs to be plugged into a power source at all times, unlike the RestOn, which has a battery that lasts for a month. The Misfit Beddit is basically a long strip of very thin plastic with a small, rectangular power brick at one end. You're better off using a fitness tracker with sleep monitoring capabilities, like the Fitbit Charge HR ($100.00 at Amazon) (Opens in a new window) or the Jawbone UP3 ($0.38 at Amazon) (Opens in a new window). But the Beddit also shares the RestOn's flaws, chief of which is that it needs to be activated manually, which makes for inaccurate results. The two devices are very similar, right down to the price, $149.99, and a well-designed app that breaks down your sleep metrics in an easy-to-understand fashion. Like the Sleepace RestOn Smart Sleep Monitor ($249.99 at Amazon) (Opens in a new window), the Misfit Beddit is an Indiegogo-funded strip of fabric that you place on your mattress, under the sheets, so you can find out how well a night's rest you're getting.

In the decade or so since, the show hasn’t really been able to uphold a stellar reputation, as many of the children who grew up watching the original Barney in the 90s and 2000s would grow into teenagers and young adults who found the purple dinosaur “cringeworthy,” creating mocking parodies of “I Love You, You Love Me.” These trends have culminated in the Peacock documentary I Love You, You Hate Me, which according to CNN, cites the negative reception towards Barney as evidence of a nasty turn in the culture during those years.” Barney Gets an Animated Show and a New Lookĭespite the mocking reception of the original Barney & Friends, Mattel has decided to move forward with an animated reboot of the original TV show, which Mattel and Nelvana will produce. Originally created by Texas mother Sheryl Leach as a companion for her only child, Patrick Leach, Barney eventually took off in popularity, with the PBS series becoming the network's most-watched kids' show in the '90s. And while there were many who loved the character, the show also had its share of detractors, including critics who literally bashed versions of the dinosaur and parents, fed up with that earworm of a song, who formed a not-so-secret society.Barney, the purple dinosaur beloved by children everywhere, is officially making his big comeback – and he’s had a makeover, too. Peacock's new documentary series I Love You, You Hate Me dives deep into the sub culture of Barney haters who formed a community that revolted against his message of kindness. Dates two boys by end of series, ambiguous I think it is more difficult to go back to Shock 1 if you played the sequel first since it copies the first game a lot for the story and setting but obviously with some quality of life improvements and better graphics and sounds. With System Shock it's not about action so much as about exploration and getting into the atmosphere and setting. I would definitely recommend playing Shock 1 first. I like System Shock 1 way better personally, but i know i'm part of a minority. Shock 2 is more of a precursor to Bioshock in that regard since Spector had left the company at that time, and its director Ken Levine would go on to create the Bioshock series. Warren Spector, the director of Deus Ex, was at the helm. The first Shock is a direct precursor to Deus Ex and it shows. System Shock 2 is easier to approach and looks nicer overall, but it's also highly derivative of the original. Don't expect a modern shooter or something like Deus Ex Human Revolution. But it's clunky and feels somewhat budget. System Shock is the classic one the most influential games of all time. SS2 being much more approachable is what made me consider doing it first, but I'd like to try getting into SS1 if I can. I've had both of them for a few months now and haven't felt committed enough to playing them until now. Well, I got the GOG version and it came with the avatars and wallpapers and stuff, and I like the artwork and story stuff of System Shock even though I haven't played the games yet. Not to mention that the story of the sequel does work even if you don't know what happened in the first game. SS2 is an infinitely more approachable game and feel like it aged better, it's a lot easier to pick up and play as the interface is far more intuitive.
